hmm interesting, it says on their partners page that paypal and zip pay are also issued by webbank. i wonder if the paypal debit card would work WebBank

Hmm. As far as I’m aware, PayPal is Bancorp (debit) and Synchrony (credit).

Not sure if Zip can be used like a normal debit card, or only BNPL…

It’s not just the bank, but the BAN assigned to the licensee .. meaning Fidesmo Pay would have to be set up for each “partner” utilizing webbank individually.

I removed my Curve to test, but adding the PayPal debit card gave me an error of it not being supported by Fidesmo.

I’m in the UK fyi.

Update on the Klarna situation;

That should definitely not be happening for a contactless only token. Fidesmo ticket has been updated.

I’ve been using Klarna with my Ring Conversion for a month now, it works great. I live in Europe though, that’s probably the difference. Also I’ve tokenised a physical card and not a virtual one, if that could maybe be the thing.

I set up my Klarna to automatically reload my balance when it drops low, so it essentially acts as a front for my bank. You’d think Curve would be great for this but they didn’t let me have an account… I don’t use the pay later features at all.

Fidesmo is actively engaging Klarna regarding the issue. Updates when I have them.

Would definitely prefer Klarna over ether.fi

Zip user here, its technicly both if set up since zip just holds a balance and they do have google wallet/apple pay set ups via virtual cards so in this case maybe?

Maybe you and Amal can get together to test if the zip virtual cards work?

If you have a card, maybe try plugging it in here. Can’t hurt: Check card – Fidesmo AB

Ok.. good update. After Fidesmo support informed me that they never actually tested Klarna account tokenization to a P71 JCOP 4 chip (Apex) only their new JCOP 4.5 chips, I tested both. I found a tokenization error which blocked access to PPSE payment processing options on Apex chips for Klarna accounts. Sent full report to Fidesmo support. Confirmed Klarna tokenization is working for US accounts on JCOP 4.5 chips.

Hopefully they will have a fix in soon and anyone with a Klarna account can re-tokenize to their Apex Ring conversion and it should work.

Fidesmo has escalated the issue with Klarna and internal teams. No ETA yet but progressing.

If this works it will be a nice surprise for me as when I got my ring I was knly expecting it to work as a FIDO key. I’ve already opened a klarna and fidesmo account the moment I’ve read about the first post :slight_smile: Now I’m waiting if this will be fixed. But have to say I like the community here, very active and knowledgeable. Thank y’all guys
