As an American who uses the Metric system, I love these memes. But I do have a serious question for those outside the US: Do news outlets and shopping centers not use humorous equivalents? Do they just say “A 1.8 meter bolder fell on the freeway blocking traffic”? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I’m just curious

My observations, with the exception of the occasional “rugby fields” for length or “olympic sized swimming pools” for volume otherwise 100% metric

Still easier than Spanish IMO. Most grammar in Chinese are very simple. For example: January is 一月 (month one) February is 二月 (month two), etc. Same with weekdays: Monday is 星期一 (Weekday 1) Tuesday is 星期二 (Weekday 2), and so on. Chinese grammar is like building with Lego were as Spanish (and English for that matter) has so many words for one thing.
For example:
Most English speakers find Spanish easy but for me (and ever other Chinese major at my university) Spanish was impossible to learn. I think it might be like the “left brain vs right brain” thing for english speakers
For me Romance language grammar is fairly straightforward, and the grammar is mostly the same for all of them (except when it’s not). I’ve never studied Chinese, but German is easy in terms of vocab for similar reasons (eg, roommate = with-liver), however the grammar of anything with cases is hard for me.
