Are my veins an issue?

Hey there

I have ordered the xSIID + LED implant the other day and I’m currently in the process of finding a professional to do it.

I have a question on my mind that I can’t yet ask anyone and I want to prepare before actually getting it and not having to decide it on the spot, if the location of the implant isn’t possible, but are the amount / position of the veins in my hand an issue?

I read about the procedure and I am not sure how it could be done with the veins in the way. Is it an issue for someone with experience? Are there other recommended places to put the implant? It’s about the same on the other hand but I think I can only upload one pic.

To clarify, I am not talking about veins in general, but my specific hand and the location of the veins. Would be great to hear an opinion on the matter.

Thanks a lot in advance

It looks like a challenge but here we go…

Assuming your bones are under the green lines, the red dot could be an entry point and the purple is where it can rest.

Thank you very much for the help amal, that might just work! If it’s too risky for the professional (not sure at all how difficult this is), is there another location you could recommend?

Positions P0-P4 all look viable, effectively the techniquie for install is

  • palpate the area
  • pinch and tent
  • roll pinched skin between fingers (this ensures the veins aren’t “in the tent”)
  • stabby stab stab

For an experienced installer, this shouldn’t be a problem.

The implant will naturally find a home and the vein or implant will give way to the other.

There are other places on the body you could install, but the back of the hand is good for blinky :blinky_green: because the skin is thin and therefore easier to see the light.

Personally I wouldnt waste P0 for a blinky, but P1-P4 would be ideal, And if you are right handed I would put it in the Left so its easier to light up with a reader/phone

The veins in my hand are only really visible when it’s hot outside, but I haven’t had any issues with installing implant over(?) veins. 2 in p1 and 1 in L3. It probably won’t be an issue, but i am no professional.

Edit: apparently it links to the image automatically, cool

It has way more to do with the skill and patience of the artist. Ramming through a vein could be a pretty bad thing.

Noted. I retort my previous statement. I had a very skilled gent do my flex.

I just have to keep in mind the perspective of all potential future readers, including the ill advised self-installers who might get the wrong idea.

Thank you for that recommendation. I will look further into those as well. Seeing that all those options are possible in my case, it appears that I’ll just need to decide which one is the most fitting and convenient.
