Car transponder key cloning?

As someone who also hangs around in professional locksmith circles most modern car keys use some form of transponder. You should easily be able to get a door only key cut, but a transponder key also needs to be programmed.

Clk Supplies sells locksmith supplies and also has many you tube videos showing how to cut and program the keys as needed. They also have a vehicle search to assist you in reducing the number of relevant products you have to look at.

You probably don’t want to purchase a transponder cloning machine but you might be able to purchase an appropriate transponder from them for a few dollars and see if that and a Proxmark3 are sufficient.

In some cases I know that you can program the vehicle to accept a new transponder instead.

Hi, i know that this is a old thread but I recently got a 2008 ford.
It only has one key. I know that the transponder for these is either a 4d60 or 4d62, 40 or 80 bit chip.

There is a program called Forscan that that lets you add new keys to your car via via obd2.

It reads the incode and outcode from the old key ( challenge and response) and writes to the new key.

I brought 2 new keys from the Internet but just want to check if the transponder chips in them are the same as the old one using my proxmark3.

From what I have read so far here i take it that you can.

If not there are lots of key transponders on aliexpress for a few bucks I can buy and swap.

Should be doable?
