Title said it all, trying to figure out which one to get …
It will be paired with a UG4.
Is there a performance difference?
Is the ZUID able to be programmed from MCT (when set as a gen2)?
(I need to check if the UG4/ultimate magic card set as S50 can be programmed with MCT )
I like that the gen 2 fixed mode (is it needle install like the V1?)
I like the the ZUID is so flexible (the UG4 should do the same and more)
Looking forward to fist hand feedback (pun intended )
i don’t have a Flexm1 gen2 so i cant comment on the range but the FM1V2 has great range.
Yes it can be programmed by MCT when gen2 mode is enabled
the UG4 can also be set to gen2 mode fwiw (though umc mifare classic emulation is not the best for live installations so personally i wouldn’t use it for that.)
the ZUID in the FM1V2 can do gen1a, gen2 and can also independently control its anticollision SAK value via the config block (helpful for sak swapping)
the upside to this is if you mistakenly upload invalid information into the chip, you can use the backdoor gen1a features to wipe and reset it to a functional state.
the FlexM1 gen2 is just a CUID with no hardware recovery for invalid data being set making it possible to permanently brick it, user error is not the only potential reason invalid data can be written to a CUID, it is very rarely seen, but gen2 detection by way of trying to auth a write to block 0 has been seen in some cases to proceed with writing an invalid block 0 value to brick the card, as a retaliation for trying to clone their credential.
