flexUG4 vs dUG4T

Hi.

I have a “flexUG4” in my hand and had it for a couple of years, my on some readers it doesnt seem to work, i think its because of the small antenna, to “fix” that i was looking at the “dUG4T – Ultimate Gen4 + T5577” because it seems to have a bigger antenna is that right? Do anybody have experience with round implant how is installation and where, i was looking at my forarm maybe?

Have you tested if the reader is low or high frequency? Low frequency readers are incompatible with high frequency implants like your flexUG4, and will also be incompatible with the dUG4T.

Because you have cloned the credential to a UG4 test card to confirm it works with the transponder?

I know it is HF, it’s comes from a mifare 1K classic, i know my implant works because is works with other readers my question is simply if it is right that the dug4t has a bigger antenna, because the dug4t also have the magic gen4 card built into it, like my current flex implant

It does have a bigger antenna and better range : )

Okay perfect, is there any recommended placement in the forarm?

do you also think that it is a range issue because it is the same data that the flipper is emulating that my current flex implant has stored

Probably underside if you’re sticking with the forearm. the bones (at least on my arm) more visibly twist about on the top and I wonder how comfortable rolling something the size of a quarter over those would be.

The flipper is a bad analog. I mentioned the UG4 test card because the UG4 is quirky.

Sorry if I’m misunderstanding you here, but you tested the readers that didn’t scan it for LF and HF, correct? If the reader is LF it won’t scan a HF chip no matter the size of the antenna.

Sounds like they did enough testing to verify that.

The UG4 is pretty good with MIFARE Classsic so it’s most likely coupling.

I hope so, they mentioned in the reply that it works with other readers, but didn’t mention testing the readers that didn’t scan it. All I got in info was about the chip itself.

And when you say coupling you mean a range issue?

The dUG4T should solve your your problem assuming:

  • The particular reader in question worked with your Flipper’s emulated credential
  • And there isn’t some UG4 surprise that rears its head (seems unlikely with MIFARE Classic 1k)
