After almost 2 years of trying, I finally got my xSIID chip installed. I tried all the local tattoo and body piercing places, 4 doctors, and a hand surgeon who flat out told me that no medical professional would install this for me. After posting an odd note in a forum how I was tinkering with the chip (I bought 1 to play with, then one more with the kit to implant), a gentleman reached out to me and suggested a piercing shop in Poulsbo, a couple hours from me. I made an appointment drove up and about 5 minutes later, I was chipped. A very simple painless procedure. Surprisingly almost no bleeding, what you see on the bandage is what came out. I found that a wee bit remarkable since I’m on a triple anti coagulant cocktail to try to clear blood clots left after a flu shot using the new MRNA based vaccines (don’t get me started). Bleeding you can see is no big deal, as direct pressure can stop it anyway. My family thinks I’m stark raving nuts, mark of the beast bla, bla, bla. I told them to go back and re read revelations… I’m looking forward to working with soem of the things I’ve been tinkering with on my practice chip.
Medical wise, there was a teeny bit of swelling and a couple weeks later the chip could be read by my phone. It even turned green. Oddly my sifely door lock won’t read it, but it does read the spare chip in a plastic baggie.
I noticed the chip wanted to rotate about 45 degrees from it’s installed position, sometimes it slides about 1/2” to the left of where it was installed. I tried the cu-tips and sports tape trick to keep it in one place but now one end wants to do a deep dive under a tendon, where it can’t be read. I can massage it back up to the surface, but I can’t get it to go back to where it was installed.
I’m curious if there is some trick to get it up near the surface and keep it there where it can be read.
Now If I could just convince one of my surgical buddies to put a couple sutures around it to hold it in place for a couple weeks, I think I’d be golden. In retrospect, it’s a wee bit awkward in this location to read it with my Sifely door lock. I should have had them place it on the backside of my hand by my pinky finger. Maybe it’s time for a 2nd chip.
Is there someplace I can buy a device that has a stronger NFC field than my phone. The reader is on the back of my phone and has to almost cover the chip to get it to glow. I see many photos where the sensor must be on the base of the phone.
