Implants and Chinese Government

Hello everyone, I am about to install the NExT implant into my left hand. Im going to be spending a semester in China next semester, and was wondering if anyone has had any issues with legality regarding implants in China. Body modifications seem to be a pretty gray area in the country so I just want to be absolutely certain that I wont have any problems. Thanks.

I can’t guarantee, but I’ve been to China with zero issues…around implants.

Also, I never told anybody, and why would YOU?

Nobody will have any idea if you don’t broadcast it, if you’re that paranoid, I wouldn’t even post this here.

I’ve been there too with implants. I would certainly not tell them and would be careful not to let anyone know.

I doubt you will have issues, but it takes only one small minded bureaucrat to cause you a lot of trouble. Especially since they could be considered a hidden means of carrying information. Remember the great firewall.

Yeah, I wasnt planning on showing it off or anything, hut i did plan on putting my metro pass on it and wasnt sure how security/police would react to it

My reply sounded more harsh than was intended.
I would suggest using it in public like that on public transport. Might be considered as broadcasting, I did not do that when I was over there.

I have a couple of questions for you:
Do you know if it is even possible?
Do you have any details on the metro card?
Would you do it in your own country?
And if they were to see you using it, what sort of reaction do you think that they would have and would you be able to talk your way out of it?
What do you think the repercussions would be if they did see you using it?

Remember there are security cameras everywhere, also, it is not just enforcement officers that will be watching you; Members of the public will be also and they will happily rat you out to the authorities for any unusual behavior, but as a student, You may not draw quite so much attention as others

I think its possible but im not certain, I think I just won’t use it at all while I’m there to be safe. I’d be comfortable using it where I’m from, some people might not exactly approve of it but it’s legal where I live and I don’t care if strangers disapprove of my choice

Yeah basically don’t use them or show them off and you should be fine. Never forget the temptation to make you into an example or even a bargaining chip is always going to outweigh the guilt of arresting and prosecuting you under dubious pretenses.

I would strongly recommend against this.

Also what are you going to do if you have to produce your pass to some sort of ticket inspector? (not sure they have them as I have only ever done city to city trips). It would be asking for trouble doing this.
