I don’t think they ever had an “embedded systems guy” because I’m not sure they thought they needed one until suddenly all of the stretch goals were fulfilled, and they swapped the C5 to the main device.
As for the M1 I have no clue because I only knew about it for 5 months now and for the most part it was all “scam” being passed around.

I’m pretty sure they are a couple of hackers tinkering and now that they have the money, they are hiring a pro.
And @Hamspiced you have to remember that Kickstarter is not a pre-order. You’re investing in a brand new company in the hopes that they succeed. A rule of thumb I always follow when investing (or gambling) is to only invest money that you would be okay loosing.
Edit: Sorry if that sounded condescending. I absolutely did not mean it that way, but I’m tired and can’t think of a better way to word it.

A few updates back we told you we’d teamed up with Rubio y del Amo for our branding and SK–PD for the industrial design. Today we finally get to show you what all those months of work turned into.
New brand, new identity — say hi to Kody
We’ve reworked Kode from the ground up: new colors, a new identity and a new face to go with it. Meet Kody 
— the character that’s going to represent everything we’re building together.
This isn’t just a fresh coat of paint. It’s the identity we want to build this community around for years to come.
And this is it: the final design of the Kode Dot. The exact one shipping to you, with everything you unlocked during the campaign packed inside. No renders-only surprises this time, this is the real thing.
Quick heads-up: in the video and the images you’ll only see the Kode Dot in white, but the transparent edition is exactly the same, just with the see-through case.
The PCBs are fabricated and running at 100%

Story of my life
Is this the main forum for Kode Dot? I couldn’t find anything on Discord but then I am not familiar with Discord. It is so funny as I was talking with my Ai Bot about Kode Dot and ‘it’ was giving me loads of exciting things it thinks it could code with me, for it to do. I am more excited by it than ever, as of course it opens doors (literally and figuratively) that I couldn’t on my own.
