I don’t think they ever had an “embedded systems guy” because I’m not sure they thought they needed one until suddenly all of the stretch goals were fulfilled, and they swapped the C5 to the main device.
As for the M1 I have no clue because I only knew about it for 5 months now and for the most part it was all “scam” being passed around.

I’m pretty sure they are a couple of hackers tinkering and now that they have the money, they are hiring a pro.
And @Hamspiced you have to remember that Kickstarter is not a pre-order. You’re investing in a brand new company in the hopes that they succeed. A rule of thumb I always follow when investing (or gambling) is to only invest money that you would be okay loosing.
Edit: Sorry if that sounded condescending. I absolutely did not mean it that way, but I’m tired and can’t think of a better way to word it.
