New Quest - Lets make a game

any one here any good with image manipulation? i have a bunch of converted photos im struggling to join together due to inconsistencies . from trying to 2d a images with depth.

never mind i mastered it, 3/80 images so far lol…

I’ve developed mamy small games back when I was a teen and decided about a year ago that I wanna let my teenage dream of releasing a game on Steam become reality. So, I sat down and build a short metroidvania. It will release in a couple of weeks for free and you can check it out here if you’re interested.

It is entirely made from scratch including models, textures, music and game logic as the UPGBE engine does not really give you much except for some basic physics and blender’s eevee rendering.

I am not experienced with Godot, but I wanted to get into it some time in the future. But if you need help with anything game design or Steam release related in the future, you are free to DM me. I see some great work so far with these assets :ok_hand:

Edit: I would also certainly be down to playtest it :wink:

Progress report. Gpt is doing a good job on the backgrounds.

Ive actually started the code side. (Currently have a sprite with an idle and walk animations on a background. The camera moves with player. ) this after noon ill add the punch and jump animation and ill post a video below.

feels like i started this ages ago, fucked off and made a tamagotchi instead. now im back with like 20 sprite sheets that need to be chopped up and see if they can become animations. im moving away from pixel are for a more visually apealing game,

as for style i do like the whole blue and orange, as shown in the concept art . so it looks like the background images need redoing…

help me make gpt do what i want and not what i say….

to put it simply id like gpt to pose my character in the poses from streets of character sprite sheet. heres just the walk frames

as you can see from above im getting close, but not quite. there are size and composition issues with each image and ill probably have to cut and paste parts together for the consistency of continuity …

have a play with your gpt see what you can do , make notes of your fruitful prompts

doesn’t seem to be working and ive hit my limit on both accounts, i may try to chop it up into its core components and animate it bones style…. tomorow…

Im back and since my last post sora was invented… here’s a game trailer made by sora. Note this is from 8 different renders that I edited togeather. So sora doesn’t get all the credit. 90% of them were unusable… but its progress . lets waste 15 seconds of your life by watching this video below.

oh daMn I did keyfraims. Good job past chimpo!. Im gona bung some of these in to sora and see if I can get coherent looping movements. That i can chop up in to key frames and make a sprite sheet with. Let’s hope it stays constant. Im gona start with the walk animation… wish me luck..
