I have a xNT that I had installed in 2018 in my left hand at 0. Maybe some of what I am noticing is because I am used to that. I had my NExT V2 installed in my right hand at 0. I am aware that it is very early and I may be paranoid but we definitely seen the yellow plunger bit when it was put in. Big needle, hurt for a bit but now I don’t feel as sore as I remember with my first one and I do not really feel a bump where it should be. No scans HF or LF with my flipper zero or proxmark3. No noticeable glow.
I did not specifically look in the needle before installation but it was for sure not still in there after. I think I am mostly surprised that the LF would not read. Maybe it will read tomorrow or soon but wanted to check early if LF was a giveaway that something is wrong.
I had not. I am new to proxmark. But quick test tells me now nothing is pulling on the reader in that hand. Tested with the reader on my hand, XFD, Diagnostic Card, 5577 card. No meaningful voltage change on my hand. Small pull from XFD, Large Pull from the Diag card and a 5577 card.

I don’t think I can recall an instance of someone finding an empty syringe yet…
However, we have seen a few instances of chips migrating farther than you would think, or being obscured by swelling more than expected… And even one instance where a chip might have hitched a ride in a vein all the way to their lung
I wouldn’t give up hope of finding it quite so soon is all, it could very well be floating around in there somewhere still
While I have yet to hear about it on here or from this company, I have friends in other countries where chips have fallen from syringes or companies that haven’t even loaded them, so I can’t deny the possibility.
The swelling does look large, and there is a possibility it could be deeper than intended or have migrated, but some power fluctuation should still be expected IME if it were in that location. Even on the second day with large swelling I could get some voltage draw.
Definitely give it several days. Swelling can easily cause very faint / no power draw on proxmark3 tune readings and cause magnets to not want to “stick” because both are governed by the inverse cube law. Small changes in distance have exponential effects.
In in doubt, an x-ray will be definitive. Or, just wait
I will definitely give it some time. My clinic manager (who did the install) is going to move that sharps container to my office and check if it might have fallen out on the drape. If it is just sitting there I will update that and if I see changes in the upcoming days I will also update that. Obviously I would prefer it just start working and not have to heal for another attempt.
Very similar to my issue when I first got the NV2. Mild anxiety about the device functioning. Once the swelling went down and everything started working properly it was a relief.
Update for today. Still not seeing anything with the Proxmark3. Swelling is way down and palpating the area is very tolerable. I had a few of my clinic staff check if they feel anything and none of us feel anything other than the injection site. Everything used in the install other than sharps was wrapped in the drape, I checked sharps and the drape for a missing chip, nothing found.
Just so you know, the NExT v2 is somewhat unique as it happens to be one of the x-series we load into the injectors here in the lab in small batches by hand. The chances of there not being a chip in that needle is extremely low.
I appreciate you and your company is one of my favorite things. I sincerely hope that I am wrong and it just starts working. In the event I am wrong about an issue this will be a great case to point to when someone thinks they have a problem in the future.
Otherwise I understand how weird the issue is and want to make sure if I am in the very small margin of error there is documentation to back up what I experience. There is no part of me that wants to make Dangerous Things look bad.
I totally understand. There are a couple things to keep in mind;
First; swelling often has two modes.. the obvious swelling that is localized, which goes away fairly quickly. The other mode is general swelling that affects the entire area. This type is basically impossible to notice because it’s like the tide coming in.. the whole area is affected so it’s hard to see anything to contrast against. This type can take weeks to dissipate.
Second; we have had two past reports, which were never really confirmed to my satisfaction, of an apparent injection into a large artery. Apparently this lead to the implant migrating through the cardiovascular system, through the heart, ending up wedged in an artery in one of the lungs. As I said, neither of these reports were really confirmed. I pursued contact with medical staff to only be denied access to discuss the cases with anyone but the reporter. Both cases simply went radio silent after I attempted to confirm with medical professionals.
If there’s any concern at all, get an X-ray.of the hand, arm, and chest.
The swelling possibility is what I am waiting for.
I have seen the other reports of migration through an artery. I am not worried about that based on the site. I am in the same boat as you wanting more information about those cases (mostly from the I work in a clinic point of view) but I know I am even further away from getting more information. Based on install location there is no way it has moved away from the hand at the present time.
Now if only I could expense an x-ray machine, might be a tough sell for the type of clinic we are. Especially with me being the IT guy and the only person with radiology background.
POsSiBLy too deep. You do have chunky hands so the fascia layer may go a bit deeper and combined with swelling you may have a bit of depth to contend with.
Your description of the install, I dont think it went into the muscle (you would have felt that)
Give it a month from install to start “worrying” about it.
