I haven’t had much luck with the RSP nor hamspiced’s PCB repeater V2.1s. With the caveat that my “measurement setup” is me holding
stuff in place and bringing it closer until it beeps, I haven’t been able to measure any improvement in read distance. This is weird considering how others comment on how “such-and-such device can read through my desk now”.
Position of where specifically you place the devices matter. You have to place them within the fields sweet spot. Using either an XFD or a field detector.
For those of you in the DT Club, you’ll know I did a project where I embedded in NFC Reader into my keyboard. Aside from making it easier to read, this sticker acts as a nice target for placing implants up to that reader.
hellofasticker you got there sir.
Might i add that my logo has officially went full circle and has found itself back on what it came from…
@Hamspiced I never got around to making an NFC antenna for the NanoVNA I bought. I don’t fully understand the specifics of how antennas work, but would something like this work as a premade antenna for the NanoVNA?

Those H-field probes will work, that’s what I use. Just make sure you have an appropriate SMA cord to connect it to your VNA.
Hi guys
I was just reading this thread and loved seeing the journey and progression.
I was wondering if somebody could help me.
Please see the attached video.
I am helping a local charity build a tap to pay app that they can place in their entrance lobby that will run on a Samsung Android tablet with nfc.
The issue is that once the user selects a donation amount, the app triggers the tablet’s nfc to take a tap to pay donation, however, the nfc antenna is at the back and the tablet screen is front facing and will be back to wall in a secure tablet mount.
I bought a nfc range extender from amazon UK (£25) link here but feel that the nfc strength is quite weak. I have to lay the payment card flat on the nfc repeater pad to get a decent read.
Any proposals / suggestions would be warmly welcomed on how I could improve this.
Thanks
