Thinking of getting ultron bundle
already own a flipper zero and am familiar with RFID/NFC tech
never had an implant before
the T5577 is obviously reprogrammable, as it says many times on it’s page and online
But is the NTAG216 reprogrammable?
The NExT implant page and the ultron implant set page is slightly vague, and only after digging through the FAQs did i find this:
Q: Can I clone my work/school access card to my implant?
A: Ok, this is a big one. In short, the answer is - maybe. It all depends on the type of chip your work/school/home access card is using internally. If your source card/tag/fob is a 125kHz EM or HID Prox chip, then you can clone that ID into our xEM or NExT implant using our proxmark3 tool. At this time, the only 13.56MHz tag we have that can change it’s 4 byte ID is the xM1 “Magic” Mifare Classic 1k implant.
Uncertain when this was written, and if anything has been updated since.
The ntag216 has user programmable memory blocks typically used for NFC applications which requires specific formatting. You can write anything you want to those memory blocks, even if it is not formatted for NFC applications.
The serial number or UID is not part of the user memory, and is not changeable. Most access control systems use the UID as either the only component or at least a major component of the access mechanism. Therefore, the only real way to use the NTAG216 with most access control systems is to enroll it. This requires the cooperation and permission of the system administrator - assuming it is compatible with the system in question.
