I gave the tattoo removal a whole month to heal because I kinda overdid it while learning and the top few layers of skin fell clean off. I think I’m being better at it, but I honestly don’t know.

Hah that’s what that metal standoff ring is for… focal length. I just thought you were “experimenting”
Well the focal length was where I was holding it because I wanted max power. The metal standoff is about a third of the focal length, but that’s fine for tattoo removal because the laser is more than strong enough to break apart ink even with a diffuse beam. My knowledge of how lasers work actually overrode my common sense. It was fun to watch me ablate myself vigorously for a bit though.
yep exactly… it’s supposed to form a point on the skin like 2mm-3mm in diameter… diffuse the power a bit.
