Sorry for you loss

I can help minimize some of the fear if you need any help,
Ie, how to make sure it’s unloaded safely,
Potentially how to put it into separate pieces to give you some more comfort

But in some states you can legally own binary explosives, 50cal machine guns, Antiaircraft guns, various types of cannons and dont forget flame throwers.

Thank you both… it’s kinda okay, sad, but I knew it would happen some day or the other. Still, great to have a caring community like this one

Thanks a lot for that, but I couldn’t really keep them legally (nor did I want to), so I handed everything over to the police. Considering several weapons were not-so-legal even for my dad as a huntsman, they were quite surprised at what I had here^^

I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure that goes against the INTENT of the 2nd amendment…
You yanks are funny, who needs an anti aircraft gun? [Rhetorical]

Don’t get me wrong im in the uk but definitely enjoy shooting every now and then but I think the ease of access to firearms is crazy but at the same merit the uk is way too strict.

What are the firearm stats in the UK?
Do your police carry firearms?

I know the answers…another Rhetorical question

I know where I would rather live.

Its nice to know those who want firearms have to have not only reason, but be mentally fit and spend a reasonable amount of money to have the privilege.

Yes and no

Anyone not in the states, have a misrepresentation of how easy it is…
In some ways it is, other ways it isn’t

Because it’s become a political buzz issue, it gets boiled down into snippets when really it’s a a far more complicated issue

There a things we could do that would make for a safer community without taking or limiting peoples rights or access

But at the end of the day, that’s not what politicians want, they want the quick media dogood spotlight

Funny, it’s the exact opposite for me: I cut myself pretty bad with a knife when I was a kid (enough to nick a tendon in my finger, requiring microsurgery and all) and now I’m deathly afraid of anything that cuts. It’s such a phobia that I’ve thrown away all the steak knives in the house. Not easy to cut steaks with dull knives I tellya

But I’m a gunsmith, and I’m totally fine with guns.

Oh don’t get me twisted I dont read all the media bullshit. I understand you can’t just walk into wallmart and buy one of the rack.

Chipped people and electronic locks on all guns got it

That’s a shame, I understand the legality issue, but I’ve personally seen some very beautiful and or rare firearms get destroyed because police

That being said, maybe they weren’t anything special (I choose to believe this to make myself not cry at the thought of something really nice being burned)

I would always suggest museums or gunsmiths or other hunters first, but I get it also it’s just an easy option

Interesting but of data,
(Again not a cop lol)

There was a study in which people were presented with a ā€œmuggerā€ type criminal with a knife and one with a gun

The firearm IS a more lethal threat

But when presented with a knife the ā€œvictimsā€ were FAR less likely to try to call out for help or to resist than vs the firearm, even though they could articulate that the gun was more lethal

Sharp and stabby has some very primitive fear attached to it

Yeah, that’s what I meant - you know them, you know how to handle and work with them, and so there’s no reason for you to be afraid of guns at all. I’m used to getting cut, in a way, so knives don’t scare me

My problem with the weapon politics in the US… too many bad things happen. Accidents happen with guns, where people get hurt or killed because of carelessness, in a way. I’m really shocked to see people roaming the streets with guns, trying to uphold ā€œorderā€ and ā€œpeaceā€. And some overreactions of the police are also a result of the permanent underlying fear that people they are inspecting might just pull out a gun and attack them. That are things I would be afraid of, and I do not think that this can lead to something good or peaceful.
But I totally know that this is my point of view because I live where I live, and because I was raised the way I was. I might think totally different if I grew up somewhere else.

Nah, was nothing special (I think), I asked a few other hunters, but they were not interested. And I couldn’t sell the illegal ones at all, so…

Oh god, I thought you were coma for a second and that is what was turned into the police

:scream: :sob:

Hey, I don’t like guns, but I’m not a barbarian! This would have been sent to a museum, definitely - and I can even appreciate the art of it^^

Massive heart palpitations ensude I imagine.

Just imagining someone running around the woods using them for hunting :rofl:
