xEM compatability -- all 125kHz?

I purchased the xEM RFID Tag [T5577 Emulator] with the hopes of replacing this access card: https://www.identiv.com/images/pdfs/datasheets/en/IdentiveCredentials_DS_01092013.pdf

The reader/writer was sold out on this site so I bought what seemed to be the correct one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019GJDGJM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This reader/writer will read the tags that came with it but not the access badge I wish to clone. I understand I cannot test the RFID tag I purchased without injecting it, but want to inject the right one. Do I have the right RFID tag for this purpose? If so, and the issues is with the reader/writer, what are my options?

Thank you very much for your help!

Hi Matt,

Identive may be using EM chips in their cards, or HID ProxCard II chips… not sure which. In both cases, the cloner would not be what you’d want… if they use EM chips, the xEM is preprogrammed in EM mode with an EM41xx ID number, so you won’t need the cloner… or at least shouldn’t need it. If they use HID chips, then the cloner won’t work for you because it just clones EMs.

Feel like sending me some Identive cards for testing? PM me if so.
