Xem v3 wiring issues

I’m having trouble with wiring an actuator up to the xem v3. I had no issues with programming the implant to it but having one hell of a time tring to get it to power the actuator. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I tried watching the video provided on the site and im not familiar with breadboards. Also looks like maybe two power sources in the video? At this point I’m super confused any visual aids would be awsome. Also noticed the color of wires isn’t the same as in the video. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

Did you see the pamphlet?

The yellow wire is the common. That is the power that will be connected to nc/no conditionally.

Yes I saw it just dont quite understand it.

Ok so right now the yellow wire appears disconnected so this won’t work.

I think you are trying to switch the hot so yellow should be +12vdc (or whatever voltage you need to drive the actuator) and blue looks connected correctly. Black should be connected to your battery negative.

Yellow directly to the battery with red?

You can test by scanning or using the push ti open feature (touch the white wire to batt neg briefly).

Sorry i am mobile, is that a 9v battery? What voltage does that actuator need? 9v seems low.

Yes it’s 9 volt and the actuator works with just the battery but when wired up the relay trips but the actuator does not move. Is it possible both together wont work with only 9 volts?

Most likely. You tend to want separate power supplies. Does the board restart–like, power cuts out when it trips?

So when wired to my truck battery I will need two power supplies? I was under the impression I could just run power strait through the board. Will this be the case when I do a key fob as well?

That’s a different animal. Tiny battery being overdrawn is the potential issue here.

No power does not cut out but light goes from blinking red to green when I scan my implant and I can hear the relay as well just no movement from actuator.

Then you should check wiring

Another potential issue is the board itself being undervolted. It is labeled as 12v. But if you are hearing the relay click this should not be the issue.

Yea at this point I’m not sure. I have two new boards both with the same thing going on. I don’t have a 12v power supply or battery in the house and it’s 19 degrees outside so I guess I’ll buy a battery or power supply and hopefully that will work LOL!

Assuming you already tried bypassing the coupler, i would verify that the battery actuates the thing when connected direct.

Yes it works on the xemv3 independently and the actuator independently.

To be clear, you tested it again since we have been trouble shooting?

I think I have it wired wrong but I’ve tried all different variations out of frustration to no avail.

Yes
