I confirm. I think they’re just being extra-cautious. They know one method works so that’s it and nothing else…

I assume that it helps ensure that the inside of the magnet is sterile as well? But I’d expect the manufacturer to do that before magnetizing the magnets.
I also came across this on the titanium balls page:
A long time ago, I read an article about someone who had his balls replaced with titanium or something.
