So a little fun with the access control device that you can get form DT today, as you know I’m a security installer technician, I already have access control on my house, so the question was what should I do with this little gem? After looking into DSC neo prox keypads, I was like welp I can make this work… So I was able to fit the coil inside the keypad, placed the controller on the back side of the wall, took power from the keypad and ran a wire to the key switch zone in the panel and voila! I can now arm and disarm via key switch using my hands chip!
Little worth noting, the coil does not like a long wire between it and the control board so it’s best if you can put the board in the wall behind the keypad or on the back side of the wall like I did. No attic in this house forced me to wire through the laundry closet during the initial alarm install.
Neo HS2LCDRF keypad, you’ll cut the rubber a little bit for the coil, remove a little tab pointed out, and bam.
