The NFC ring doesn’t enter a password when you scan it to the PC. It enters the UID of the chip. You can go to settings and enable a PIN input for login and then scan the ring. The UID becomes your pin.
The ring has to be held over a specific area of the KBR1 reader and possibly even oriented in a specific direction.
