Any experience with the Balena Etcher Pro?

Has anyone had any experience with the Balena Etcher Pro?

I’ve wanted one since it came out but now that they are EOL I figured I better snag one on eBay while I can so I ordered one just in time for a big work project.

After purchasing I went looking for any reviews or demos (as most do after an impulse buy :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:) but all I could find was this video from Balena themselves:

I also remember Jeff Geerling praising it in his Mr Beast collab video.

But that’s it. I can’t find anything else showing a real unit.

I get that it’s a really overpriced niche product, but I’m still surprised there are no videos about it. Surely some big companies (like my work) must have bought them. Or maybe the reason they discontinued it is because absolutely nobody bought any :person_shrugging:

Update: My Etcher Pro arrived and it is sweeeet! :sunglasses:
I flashed a 30 GB image to 15 SD cards in only 10 minutes :exploding_head:

The only downside I’ve noticed (apart from the price) is that it can be really picky about what USB drive you use to store the source image. It didn’t like my USB 3.2 SanDisk 128GB Ultra drive so I wound up coping the image to an extra SD card since I didn’t have any other USBs handy.

After that it was off to the races and I flashed 21 SD cards total across 2 batches. Saved me half a day’s work in less than 20 minutes.
