I live in the US and I can’t find a place to buy a Desfire EV2 card. Websites are out of stock or require you to buy in bulk. I can even send some money if someone has a spare they don’t use. I just want one for testing since I have a flexDF2.

What sort of feature testing are you planning on doing? The DESFire EV3 card in the test card pack is functionally almost identical to the EV2, unlike the jump from EV1 to EV2 where major algorithms changed.

I basically want to interact with the tag via Python and a ACR1252U-DOT card reader.
Right now I’m using ChatGPT to help me write something that authenticates. If I can get the same functionality with an EV3 and not modify my code, I might try that.
I really don’t know what I want to do yet. I also have a couple Proxmark RDV4s that I use.
Yeah basically the ev2 and ev3 will work interchangably for these types of applications. The ev3 implementation makes multitennant key management essier but otherwise doing basic file deployment, keying, and authentication work the same afaik on ev3 and ev3
