Apartment Fob Type

I live in an apartment building with keyfobs for building and elevator access, currently my place uses Keyscan K-TX2 HID 125kHz 4-Button Key Fob Wireless Transmitter, HID Coil, 10-Pack which flex implant should I get?

Ideally I want something with broad compatibility since my situation requires me moving every couple of years. Over the years I have only ever used fobs like the one linked except for the one time when it was those thick HID tags with grey silicon disks on either side

It looks like there are a few different versions of this fob, are you sure the HID version is the one you have?

Yep, the IC mentioned on mine is 5241A-KTX2 and the FCCID is WFW-KTX2

That FCC ID:

Seems to show a frequency of: 433.92MHz, not 125kHz.
Would you happen to have something like a PM3 or a FlipperZero to confirm the chip type?
Or perhaps something like a field detector card (RDC) to double check the reader?

If it is a 125kHz HID credential, then any T5577 implant should work for you, but I’d hate to see you get an implant and have it not work.

Implants that could work for you:
xEM
FlexEM
NExT
xMagic

Both the NExT and xMagic are dual frequency implants, so if you want the ability to do HF implant stuff in the future, those could be a great choice

You would also need something like a PM3 or FlipperZero to program any of the LF implants

That 433.92 I think is for the radio in this to open the garage door. I am assuming the NeXT is the best one to get for wide compatibility between ACS for apartments

I would say the xMagic is probably the best choice purely for Access Control purposes, both chips in that implant are capable of having credentials cloned to them

The xEM is the cheapest option

The FlexEM is the strongest performer, best read range, but also the hardest install

The NExT is good if you want to do NDEF stuff with phones, and/or limited HF access applications, and is a little cheaper than the xMagic

The xMagic is the best if you want maximum clone-ability, though it isn’t compatible with every system either
