Hey got my Apex flex installed today by Shawn O’Hare the process went great(scalpel method) and was just removing my bandage to put a new one on so figured I’d ask about the only worry I have so my hand is still somewhat numb in the red circled area in the photo the implant is in the blue area is this from the swelling over the nerve that’s near that area any help or aftercare advice is greatly appreciated. I think il be fine I’m just a bit nervous haha.

Could be swelling, but also could be some nerve damage too. That’s part of the risk factor for putting anything under you skin.
Truth is it’s likely a mix of both. Sensation should return quickly, within a matter of weeks or months if it’s swelling related. Damage related numbness might take several years to improve significantly.. but it should improve.

I had something similar with a flex in the same position. Took a while but eventually all of the feeling came back but along the way there were some points where I had unpleasant sensations as well.
All completely normal now about 5 years later.
Larger circular flex on the back of my wrist had none of this so I think it’s just how the nerves on the back of your hand naturally sit.

Yea it actually was back to normal the next day I believe the fluid from the numbing as we did scalpel method was just pressing on my nerves but all good now glad there was no nerve damage
