I will be getting a Apex Flex installed in February scalpel method it’s the smaller flex not larger and I wanted to make sure this would be a ok spot for the placement. The person doing it is is very experienced with body mods and said he could do it there I just don’t want the chip to break I normally do not hit the back of my hand anywhere and I am going to ask him to place it as far away from wrist and finger joints basically try to get it right in the middle of the red area. Just want to make sure this placement is a safe spot for the device or if anyone has a better area I just really like the idea of the top of my hand. Thanks for any insight and help

Back of the hand is a pretty popular location for flex installs, you should be good to go

I am right hand dominant, my Apex Flex is in P1 Left, which makes reading with my phone super easy.
I also have and strongly reccomend a repeater sticker
It makes reading the Apex effortless.
I do have a question; you are getting a scalpel install for a narrow, this can be done with a custom needle (which comes with the narrow) have you considered getting a module version?
I only ask because I understand the performance of the module is amazing, but I also realise it is $100 more and nearly twice as wide.
If I was to get a module, due to its size I would likely place it above the wrist or in my forearm where my FlexSecure is
As stated, I have the narrow and I have zero complaints, it works great, so you haven’t mad e a bad decision by any means, I just want to make sure you are fully informed.

I would purchase the larger version but it was given to me as a gift and as it is in the sterile packaging it reads really really good on my Samsung S25 ultra so it should be fine for now I would like the large one tho I can’t argue there
