Apex Flex Unresponsive

Hey Everyone!

So.. I had an original vivokey that bricked while it was in my arm back in 2022. That same year it was replaced with an Apex, I pulled out the vivokey and inserted the apex flex the same day. Unfortunately this week I began having the same issues as the original vivokey and can no longer use the NDEF or authenticator. I’ve tried multiple phones and a PC NFC reader with no success. I have not installed or removed any new applets.. it has mainly been used for the authenticator. Additionally, there has been no irregular pressure to that area. Anything i can do to jumpstart or recover it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You’ve had it for a little while.

You sound like, you know what you’re doing with it.

The common theme is the location.
Where exactly is it?

What’s the fault funding you’ve done so far, This sounds more like a ticket.

It’s above my right wrist, where a watch would go but I never wear one. It’s parallel to the radius.

Thank you! I will get a ticket submitted.

Does Anyone know how long it typically takes for a response? I’ve been waiting for a while now but haven’t heard anything back.

@tac0s might be able to help.

That’s not really possible. The Flex One beta units were based on the P60 and the issue with that chip was that it bricked if the NFC field failed to provide sufficient power for garbage collection and the chip browned-out. This would leave the chip in a selectable state (you can read the UID of it) but basically unusable (applets could not be selected or used).

The Apex line is based on the P71 which does not have this problem. If you are having an issue with your Apex Flex, it’s not “the same issue”. For example, can you read your Apex Flex using taginfo?

Fair enough, thank you for clarifying. Its been a while but i do recall that being a potential reason for the vivokey failure. The apex, im not sure what ciuld have gappenee. Unfortunately I can’t read it with that either. The only thing I haven’t tried, unfortunately I don’t have one but would be a proxmox. Closest that I have to that is a flipper zero

Thanks for the ping.
