Apex Ring Circa 1998

Saw this hackaday article and couldn’t help thinking how it was the Grandfather of modern Java card wearables

That’s SO cool! What a blast from the past!

I’m so tempted to pick one up for the hell of it

I guess their definition of VERY RARE is different to mine

Do it! I just bought one to play with. Thanks for the link! I didn’t even look for them since I assumed no one would be selling them. :joy:

In the native eBay language “VERY RARE” translates to “Hey collectors or random pointless stuff! Check me out!” :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I have one of these too! Have you found a way to interact with the Javacard/JVM portion of it? So far I’ve only read the ID with my flipper.

Same. I’m guessing it will be hard to access it unless you have the old “blue dot” readers, software, and maybe older computers

You can buy the blue dot readers but you’ll probably still need old hardware and software.

You might also be able to make a flipper app if you know C

Chat gpt knows C really well
