Buy Sensing Magnet

Hi!

I’ve been very interested in getting a sensing magnet implanted for years, and I’m finally going to be in a position where I can get one (I’ll be interning in a city with an experienced installer). I saw the Titan was out of stock, and I wanted to know if anybody knew of a way to buy one, or another good, safe sensing magnet. The installer has a magician’s magnet from Samppa, but that it has a teflon coating and thus is less safe. If anybody has a Titan they haven’t implanted and would be willing to sell, I’d really really love to buy it.

Thanks!

I got the magnet from Samppa in 2018. The first 5 years it was very strong.
Now I can only lift a paperclip or coin.
I have no problems with it.

@Az_F has the Lodestone magnets in stock.

I have two implanted and i love them! It senses great

They are welded into titanium just like the Titan.

There were some rumors about the sandblasted side being potentially not so good for implantation so ive posted a guide in how to polish it - as i said i have two of them implanted which are not polished and i had zero issues.

Oh yea I just saw some posts on them. How long have these magnets been out? Do a lot of people have them installed without problems?

I dont really know. i think like roughly 15 of them were installed? dont really know.

There were some rejections - they are still quite new and we need people to implant them so more data can me acquired.

The titanium welding is really decent and its done by a medical company that is specialized in building implants.

Ah thanks. Would you say there are more rejections (proportionally) then a titan or magnet from Samppa? I think I’d prefer a Titan if I can get my hands on one because more people have experience with it, but what do you think would be a safer bet if I couldn’t?

Well the samppa magnets wont hold your lifetime i think? the coating degrades at some time? or am i missremembering something?
if the lodestones heal off properly they will hold up your lifetime since the titanium wont degrade.
I cant say anything about rejection numbers. i dont really have data to say anything about that.

Lets see what others here say about it.

Wouldn’t that indicate a breakdown of the coating and subsequent corrosion of the magnetic core?

Personally I think this would be a concern. Loss of strength of that magnitude over such a short amount of time would indicate internal corrosion is occurring.

I believe the silicone is soft and somewhat permeable so it degrades over time. I believe 3-5 years is the average lifespan?

I know of three, they mostly had to do with bad installs, not infections. The 48 is quite big so people tend to make the pocket too small and too shallow and then it’s pushing against the entry wound.

I did exactly that in fact and it was pushing to get out but I held it in for a month or so with amagnet on the opposite side of the finger and it ended up healing ok. I don’t recommend it of course, just install it correctly in the first place  don’t be like me

Before

After

That said we may or may not have smaller sizes for smaller fingers coming

What advice do you have for installers of the lodestone magnets? What sorta stuff should I watch out for that might be different from installing the Titan?

Same as the Titan really. They are almost identical in size and shape. Just make a pocket more than big enough so it has room and doesn’t get pushed back whe healing

I see, thanks! I saw some previous discussion on the safety of a coating on the lodestone biomagnets, but I couldn’t tell what the conclusion was. Should I try to remove the coating with a scalpel or is it safe as is?

There’s no conclusive evidence on wether the sandblasted surface has any impact on healing. If you’d like a polished one this is something we can provide. @mrln has done it before and can polish more. Get in touch with me or them to do a custom polished order (I believe 1 is available currently)

So I did this about half a year ago. I found someone in this forum that still had a Titan, and after a bit of discussion on the price, I bought it through a friend that has been a member here for some time. I got it implanted 2 months ago, and it has healed flawlessly. I love it so much, and it has now become strong enough to even pickup my headphones case. I also got the lodestone accessory and can feel the vibrations from the music pretty well. But those lodestone magnets sure look interesting :eyes:

Lidocaine doesn’t hardly work on me…

The patches? Surely injections work :flushed:

If else fails, no pain, no gain

It’s always better to augment with no pain, regardless of what the gym bros say.
