Just got my FlexEM today and I’m having trouble trying to write anything to it or even read it with my Flipper. I have a T5577 card and that reads and writes without issue. The Flipper doesn’t seem to detect the FlexEM at all and when I try to write something, it hangs and says “Still Trying to Write.. Make sure this card is writeable and not protected”. My KBR1 reader doesn’t seem to see it either ![]()
Proxmark and lf tune? I wouldn’t be surprised if they were blank so reading would fail. But if it is coupling and not writing…
I don’t have a proxmark. The T5577 card I got didn’t read at first so I wrote a EM4100 to it and that worked instantly and I have no issues switching it to different types etc but I can’t get anything from the FlexEM.
I’ve took the silicone case off the flipper as well and tried holding it in different places but still nothing.
Let’s get it exchanged. Can you reply to your order confirmation email?
Done
Hold on to your nuggets there boys. It might not be programmed. Why don’t you try writing to it first? Then try to read it after you’ve written to it.
The flipper LED turned green at the end there. Looks like it was trying to write. How long did you let it sit there?
The LED turns green when that still trying to write notice pops up, it does that regardless of whether it’s near a tag or not.
I got a Proxmark today and did lf tune. Unloaded it sits around 30550mv, with known good t5577 card it drops as low as 8900mv, with the FlexEM it’s only dropping to 29500mv. t5 detect gets nothing, t5 p1detect gets nothing, tried the block 0 write followed by an em 410x clone and still nothing.
Tacos sorted a replacement and should be here Monday as it’s already at the local depot which is greatly appreciated!
Team work, for sure. Fulfillment got it out fast!
just fyi, there is hardly any point in comparing the voltage drop of two T5577 chips with completely different antenna designs.. comparing apples to oranges. Still, the fact the flexEM is showing a drop is a good sign that it is coupling.. but that’s about all you’ll be able to tell from this diagnostic.. i.e. the antenna is connected to the chip.. the problem is likely the chip config.
The FlexEM has good range, but not as good as a full sized card so placeme t can still be important
Here is the antenna layout
Hammy was working on a LF repeater, but it has some complexities, so until then I would suggest you play with the placement.
I have also found with my flipper, If I dont get a read within the first few seconds of try to read it can be hit and miss, I am not sure if this is a power ramping down issue or the firmware or a figment of my imagination.
Maybe another thing for you to try is some different firmware (What are you currently running?)
I assume you are trying to write to it for a specific purpose / reader.
What happens when you present it currently?
In theory The FlexEM should be in EM mode, what sort of reader do you have?
Running momentum firmware, I’ve tried it with the silicon case removed, I’ve placed the FlexEM right over where the antenna traces are as well as in the centre and it cannot read it or write to it. I’ve left it on there for a good minute before as well. Just trying to write an EM4100 tag to it so I can use it with the KBR1. Proxmark3 easy can’t see anything either with lf t5 detect or lf t55xx detect.
