Hello y’all,
I have an old CNC lathe needing some new electronics (Emco Compact5 CNC with Mk3 board). It works well, but i need to generate and input the g-code by hand every time i turn it on🙄 so time to bring this little guy into the 21st century!
Anyone converted a lathe to CNC and have some insight on the electronic side?
I think i narrowed it down to the Acorn with an old computer or a Pi5 + Mesa 7C81
The Acorn is more expensive and bulky while linuxCNC is cheaper and compact but seam a bit more daunting to setup …
Anyone running either of those, or got any experience?
