Jumping in here - yes, scalpels dull extremely fast. For my scarification, that was mostly (except for the dots) done with a scalpel, my artist used about 8 or 9 blades. Whole procedure lasted 3 hours, including some little pauses and the punched dots, so he literally changed the blades every few lines, and I felt the difference. Not terribly, but still, the fresh blade was much more comfortable.

I could see the 5mm needle being used 2 or maybe 3 times max during a session… and since the needle would presumably be wielded by a professional with sterilized gloves and field, it should be possible to use it in succession without needing a full autoclave process between uses… but the question is why risk any of this? Just get a few needles.

try a canadian version with maple syrup and snow

You have snow in PNW? That’s unusual.

If you need some more, I have a foot on my driveway that you’re welcome to come take away

This is why people wear shoes, to prevent this kind of thing from happening

You my friend just joined the short list of people who managed to seriously convince me to switch to metric full time in casual speak

I remember a conversation going something like this:
-We don’t use the “F” word in the lab, keep that in mind!
-Ah, you not, I’ll try to keep it censored…
-Yeah, we measure temperature in Celsius.

Unexpected bonus, I just intended to poke fun at barefoot

The fact that you found a “standard” unit of measurement more convenient, went by completely unnoticed

Lol

Yeah I got it, but it works on both levels. Well done - even if you didn’t do it on purpose.

To clarify - the flex doesn’t actually get infected through the needle like x-series implants?

Assuming you mean injected and not infected,

Correct,

Big needle breaks skin and makes a slit that’s wider than the diameter of the needle, because of a collapsing circle

Needle gets pushed in, separating fascia and dermis, making a new home for flex

Flex is pushed in manually thru the slit

I have a video of my install if interested

It only hurts maybe 20-30% more than a standard needle, and that’s specifically only trying to get it they the skin, once it’s breaks thru it’s significantly less painful

I used no pain meds because I couldn’t decide and forgot to order m

Just to clarify, by ‘standard needle’ are you thinking of something that would be used to draw blood or deliver a vaccine, or are you talking about the needles used to deliver other implants?

I am interested fo sho!

Oh haha,
Not a blood needle

By standard I mean the x series injector

Everyone’s mileage varies, but I found it to be a 3-5 out of 10 for all of 10 seconds or so,
Location and install technique can change it a bit

My skin is apparently pretty tough, my installer has had to put a decent amount of force into breaking the skin, but once it’s in it’s at max 2 out of 10 for pain
