Difference between NExT and xMagic and NFC

So, from what I can tell, the main difference between the two is the NExT has the NTAG216 chip which cannot change UID, while the xMagic has the generic chinese “magic” chip which allows both normal write and sector 0 uid writes, correct?

Why is it then, that the xMagic is marked as not able to “Share data with NFC enabled smartphones”, when the NTAG216 based NExT is able to, and I’ve been able to read and write to many magic cards on my nfc smartphone.

What makes the xMagic chinese chip specifically unable to perform NFC?

Mifare Classic, the HF chip in the xMagic, isn’t technically NFC compliant so it isn’t guaranteed to work with every device. However, it does have its own mostly compatible NFC-like protocol that allows it to work with many NFC capable devices, but with some oddities like iPhones being weird about programming them

The NTAG216 in the NExT however is an actual for-realsies NFC compatible chip and should work with any NFC device as intended
