Ive had my NEXT implant for years now and im finally getting around to using the RFID portion of it and got the proxmark3 easy.
Im having difficulty getting it to flash. Ive followed the guide and the videos and have no problems right up to having to do the command ./pm3-flash-bootrom
It just sits at “waiting for proxmark 3 to appear…”
In device manager its showing up as proxmark3. Ive tried just about all the troubleshooting I can find. I made sure to change the # comment in the notepad file. made sure proxeasy is located in just my c drive. Holding the button when I plug it in. Different USB ports. changing the COM port number. Turning off virus protection… No matter what I cant get this thing to flash.
That seems odd… I think the only way for it to show up like this would be for the proxmark you are using to be using an old school driver and communication method. It should just show up as a USB com port. Can you send a screenshot of your device manager window?
Oh also, can you let us know where you purchased it? Did you buy it from us?
Finally, what firmware are you trying to flash? Is it iceman?
Hey Amal, It was just showing up as a USB com port but then I read to go in and update the drivers with the ones in the proxeasy/pm3/proxmark3/driver folder and now it shows up as proxmark3.
Im sure youll hate me for not buying off the website but It would have been well over $100 CAD to do so. So I did go the cheap route and get it of aliexpress. It said ICEMAN was already installed on it, is that where I went wrong? But I am just following the video and forum tutorial you have “Getting started with the proxmark3…”
Ok so the proxmark3 is open source hardware and software. As such there are different “branches” of software (firmware and client code). If you bought your proxmark from another place, it probably has a Chinese firmware on it which isn’t typically directly changeable to Iceman. We prefer Iceman because it is way more user friendly and updated way more often than most other branches.
Since this is all new to you, now we have to get into what you’re trying to do exactly. Where did you get the software for your proxmark? Did you follow our guide?
Yes indeed I am following your guide. Using proxspace v3.11. Everything goes great literally to where I have to do the flash command.
This screenshot is just a example but no matter if its flash all, flash bootrom. what ever its not doing anything.
