Ok, after some struggles, I managed to clone my work card onto one of the card provided in my PM3 package. And it works like a charm ! I can open the doors and register at the Time clock system !
Now I am wondering which implant should I get ? The card I cloned is an NXP MIFARE Classic 1k. So is the NExT v2 can be recognize by a mifare reader ? Since according to the description I can write arbitrary binary data in it ( unless I am misunderstanding this sentence ). Or do I have to use the flexM1 v2 or any other of the flex products ?
The NExTv2 has two chips in it, only the LF side supports cloning.
It may potentially work with your readers, but you would have to enroll it in the system rather than clone your badge
MIFARE Classic is its own thing. NTAGs are dfferent.
The xMagic is the next closest the NExT. You’re not gonna find any magic chips with blinkies. Of the two gens available, gen1a requires a proxmark while the gen2 can be written with a Android phone. The gen1a version, contrary to what you’d expect, tends to be more beginner friendly as it’s nearly impoasible to brick.
Oh thanks for the information, I did not saw that on the product page. Also, I think I’ll stuck with cloning for now, I’ll try enrolling when I’ll be more comfortable-
That’s interesting, do you have an idea why the gen2 is more likely to brick than the gen1 ?
And considering the information I got from you two, I may start with the xMagic 1a. If it is easier to start with, I’m gonna take it ( A bit sad I can’t blink, but it’s just a matter of time ! )
because if you write bad data to block 0, you break the identification information and then can’t talk to the chip, and there’s no backdoor command to reset it.
and you can brick sectors individually by writing invalid ACLs or valid read only ACLs
