I found a couple of issues so I replaced the builds. Currently there are binaries for windows, linux, and mac os.

I can see the potential of some users getting confused if they want fdsm vs global mode.

Maybe have a line suggesting what to click?

“If you have an apex or other fidesmo device, hit yes. Otherwise hit no”

Is there any danger of bricking a device if the wrong mode is selected?

Basically:

“Do you want to use fidesmo mode?”

→ I have no idea

“Hey, I think you have an apex or other fidesmo device, you should probably be in fidesmo mode. Switch now?”

→ hey good catch buddy, I think that sounds like the right thing to do

If you keep telling it to use FDSM after it doesn’t work, sure. But it should warn you. It made a pretty big stink in the previous versions and the only way to see that is for you to present an Apex (or device that was intentionally designed to fool this exact test–easy to do but seriously why? It would force all memory reporting to be non-sense) and forcing it to use gp instead will throw a key error. But admittedly I have not actually tested that edge case yet. And then of course the NUKE THIS CARD counter resets on successful auth so you really should be having to try pretty hard to nuke a smart card with the app.

That’s what I found

I presented my FlexSecure/ Java Card, It (GP GUI) worked as normal, You have the option of opening an viewing the Fidesmo menu, but you cant actually deploy the apps onto the FlexSecure

Fail Safe

There is no install button, it is view only
