Glow Powder Cuttings and Tattoos

Well it’s not a ‘result’, because this is only from the 24h cleaning I just did buuuut:

Isn’t this UV ink and not true glow in the dark?

Probably, yeah. Still cool though

Went very tiny and maybe a bit shallow for my first time working with the stuff, but the cut has already closed on it pretty well in some spots. I don’t know how much will actually stay in but i’ll definitely add to it somehow once it’s healed enough.
This is after a rinse, day 2. Glowy pinky ring. :droplet:

It looks really cool ! Did stumble upon any issue while doing it ? Also, which kind of tool did you use to made the cut and clean it ? I checked your profile, so I assumed you did it yourself

I don’t know what makes you think that…

Yeah, now there is this problem with wanting more and getting new ideas that will make it look even cooler, so now I have to order the other colors too…
No big issues, pretty straight forward what to do. It’s more like a learning curve at this point as scarifications has not really been my thing, until now maybe. :upside_down_face:
This was a pretty light work tho, I would compare it to maybe a paper cut just deep enough for blood to show, not much trauma at all, so i’m prepared to lose most of it.

First, i’ll just say that i’m definitely not a person to learn from when it comes to sanitary and sterile work.
I found some kind of scalpel/knife handle thing that was laying around the house, bought it a long time ago. It came in a case with a number of different shaped blades that you can mount on it so I just picked one and used that.
With that said:

…some people might hate this (but this is not an advice or ’how to’ so..)
I don’t really use any special stuff to clean anything or wipe my stuff with.
Just water and mild or unscented soap. And then something similar to tegaderm, translation is basically ’wound film’, don’t know if that is a thing.
I’m mostly going by feel, keeping an eye on the healing and act based on that.
Bepanthen for tattoos if needed.
I’m certain some germ will get to me someday.
I mean, I reuse needles and use tap water for my greywash. (I never do stuff on anyone else than myself and will never do.)
If anything I should be dead already. :skull:
I do however think different about implants going in under the skin. Could trap some nasty stuff in there, so with that I would have put a little bit more effort to keep it somewhat sterile.

Sooo… don’t be stupid like me, is all I have to say about ”clean”. And don’t even ask about gloves, haha…:see_no_evil_monkey:
Somebody said ”My tattoo is gonna have my skin and the ink in it, so if my hands have nothing but my skin and the ink that is on them on them, why would i wear gloves?”
That’s obviously not true, but somehow it still makes sense. :woman_shrugging:
It’s risky business, but so is alot of things.

did you add some powder after the first application or you just let it be till it heals?

No, I just let it heal. But I definitely have to go deeper next time.
If you have an open wound maybe you can add to it the first days? I don’t really know!

I used a biopsy punch, so there is an “open wound”

At the 24h mark I cleaned everything up, and prepped for more details.

Added a few punch, and “re-packed” everything, but with blue this time. This is next day, the “crust” made by the powder and blood start to fall off, but some powder remains in the scar, will see how much remains once it all heals up

Part 1 is done for now, I’ll let it fully heal before messing with it any further.

One color more to add.
Looks cool, I like that they are different sizes too. :ok_hand:
I’m currently healing a xg3 so the glow project is a bit on hold, but my ring is almost completely gone now except for some spots. Lesson learned.

This is basically all that is left, two weeks in.
Can only be seen in completely dark or directly after charging it with UV. :flashlight:

Today I tried a different method on the palm side of it and can already tell it’s going to be a third.
Learning is fun. Time to crank things up a bit. :sign_of_the_horns:

I’m so curious to see how the biopsy punch approach heals: I really want it work  but honestly have no clue what’s gonna happen as the skin removal starts to heal

This VERY much gives me Star constellation vibes.

See below, a depiction of the Southern Cross (Crux)
As featured on the NZ flag, Australian, Samoan, Brazillian and probably others

I’ve seen many tattoos of it, but never a UV ink or glow powder version.
