Help with wise advice and vivid anecdotes

Greetings friends! I have a mental war and I want your opinions as long as this time you do not use sarcasm and you can help me choose a good option between these 3 payment conversion options 1. COM conversion 2. Astari 3. Purewrist and where would be the best option to implement them according to your lived experiences and knowledge.

For me, your help is very important because implanting a payment method under the skin is something that has to be well thought out and then having the courage to do it. :vivokey_apexflex: :vivokey_apexmax: :x_ray_hand:

Okay so… there are a few considerations.

The first consideration is expiration date. A CoM conversion has a better chance of having a longer expiration date because debit cards with credit card functionality built-in typically have three to five year expiration dates, but because Purewrist is a prepaid solution, they are limited to a maximum of 3 years at the time of chip manufacturing… chances of you getting a chip that has at least 3 years of life is very low. Chances are you’re going to get a chip that has one to two years of life… it’ll depends on when Purewrist manufactured their chip run.

The second consideration is implant size. A CoM conversion is going to be quite large… at least double the width of a Purewrist conversion. On the plus side this means performance is going to be outstanding, but the downside is a bigger incision made with a scalpel. That means the selection of professionals you can go to for installation services is considerably more limited than the needle procedure for the Purewrist conversion.

Another consideration could be your debit cards requirement for insertion. The chip coming from your card thinks it’s in a card. The issuer or bank that gave you the card also knows this and can easily set up a security requirement that your card need to be inserted every so often into the payment terminal. Granted I see this more often in EU cards than US cards, but it is still a possibility. I would test the card you intend to convert quite a bit before taking the module out and sending it in… just to be sure you won’t get stuck being asked to insert your card after a certain number of transactions.

What can you tell me about Astari? I spoke with Astari technical support and they told me that I could use Astari in the US but that they still don’t have enough banks integrated into the platform, but this year more banks are going to join and it could be used with Pure.

I read that as ā€œI have a mental wardā€¦ā€ and I was thinking "Implanting patients isn’t going to go over well " lol.

Same and it made me think of the ward thread at first… Then I saw the DT club icon and I realized that Necko is not crazy.

We’re all the ā€œI need more electronics under my skinā€ type of crazy… And I’m a bit of an extreme case of wanting metal and electronics in my body… I’ll admit it…

I think it’s also important to add that Purewrist is not an option? At least for the foreseeable future. We’re still waiting to see if they go under as a company, but hypothetically the brothers told me that they’re trying to buy a new batch of chips and resume selling. Right now you cannot buy one though

You’re right. I recently bought a bracelet and they gave me my money back because they didn’t have any and they were restructuring the company.
