I do not like having sex with men. Ive never tried it. But it isnt something that i want to do.

Why, would i of sound mind, be interested in hacking my body so that i am interested in sex with men?

I think a lot of these replies are failing to address OP’s approach.

I can sympathize with wanting to procreate without a feeling of disgust. Hell, if I weren’t bi/pansexual already, I think I’d even want to be (options, y’know?). I can sympathize with wanting to take control over elements of yourself which are presently understood to be immutable.

But OP, I do hope you can see the dangers in this line of conversation. The practical answer is: “we don’t know what impacts this and frankly have no idea”, but also “that’s not exactly in scope for this community anyway”. But I implore you to consider the implications if this were something possible, and its potential for oppression—to understand why others see engaging on the topic (even theoretically) as a red flag, and consider more actionable solutions to your problem (such as therapy).

@sas27 regardless of the debate going on here regarding the ethics of what you’re discussing, this kind of biohacking is not what we do or discuss here. I’m afraid you’ll be better served finding another community to facilitate this kind of discussion.

This depends on your version / definition of Biohacking, it’s not exactly the main topic of conversation we are interested in here.
You were probably closer with the Discord, but even more so with the Reddit.

To me it sounds like you are shopping around to find an echo chamber, we have a dedicated thread for that with different subject matter, but I don’t think you are going to find what you are looking for here.
You may get a robust discussion, but looking at the replies you have recieved so far, I don’t think you are going to get what you were after.

I have changed the category to Lounge, as I don’t see any tangible project in the near future.

Also, I may let this run its course, or until it starts going down hill, then I’ll close or delete it.

Probably not here though…

No you’re not. I suggested therapy in the Discord and you asked ‘What can they offer aside from defeatest acceptance?’

Clearly being gay is not something you’re open to and you have made it clear you find being gay distressing. You need to resolve those issues before you can be part of a healthy discourse on this topic. As it stand, you’re going to take it as confirmation of your position if I take your question seriously.

I think it’s a conversation worth having, as a gay transgender person myself, but only for people who are on a safe and comfortable mental state. It would be on theme with many other ethical questions that get discussed. I would not feel comfortable entertaining the discussion with someone who has expressed the things you’ve expressed.

I think finding community and someone who can help you with your obsession is a great place for you to start. Getting to know people who are in the queer community will at bare minimum help you find people who have been where you are right now.

But on the general topic, while I believe the idea of conversion therapy is bullshit

I ultimately believe in our own ability to decide who or what we want to be… just do what you want

If you don’t want to have sex with ____ then don’t?
If you want to only have sex with ____ then do that?

I don’t think this is a thing remotely to do with grinder bio hacking… an implant isn’t going to change your orientation

So just to clarify, there are a variety of groups of people under the umbrella of “biohacker”. The anonymous reddit post you keep quoting sounds like a supplements/nootropics person, which is not what we do here with implants.

Similar to what I said in discord, you can’t do a quick garage biohack for something like this. This is the kind of thing where you would need to devote a significant percentage of your life to studying and getting involved with academic institutions to get funding to do studies with functional MRIs and longitudinal studies with non human primates before you could do anything remotely resembling safe for humans.

  1. We can get into some questionable topics on discord, but this is the support forum of a business that sells implants

  2. People in this thread and discord have already voiced their ethical concerns even engaging with this topic, which is completely fair in my opinion. They’re not shutting down debate or being intolerant, specifically because this type of idea is linked to some very troublesome rhetoric we’re seeing around the world, and being tolerant of intolerance ultimately eliminates tolerance.

  3. I took your request seriously here and on discord, but I will not engage with this conversation any more because I’m concerned for your safety. If you really think this is something you want to do, won’t listen to people who explain the scope is vast, and think it can be done by a “biohacker” on their own, then you’ll try something. I don’t want to be even a small part of you injecting yourself with aromatase inhibitors to science the gay away and end up in intensive care with brain damage.

Please @sas27 seek some psychological help to work out whatever is going on, and stop posting about this in spaces related to implantable technologies
