Hey all - Relatively concerned about the lack of range for a received FlexSecure or if it’s DOA.
I have a usb reader that is able to pick up p71 cards instantly, but not so much from the FlexSecure.
The FS is still in the sterile packaging. I’m not sure how much the plastic would interfere with reading, but I can slide it across my reader in any which way direction and it isn’t picked up.
I would assume skin would cause roughly the same amount of interference. I understand the p71 is going to have a larger antenna with more range, but curious if this is the way things are or if something is off here.
The test card received has been with the FS since received, so can’t imagine something in transit or post that would have impacted one vs the other.
Lube is directly on the other side of the implant, attached to the sterile packaging. I’m not sure which side is “up”, but have been trying to scan with the implant face down on the reader.
Reader is an ACR1252U-M1, I can see the p71 card running opensc-tool -l and shows the card as ‘YES’.
English is funny. This sentence is unclear. Post a photo please
If the lube and implant are positioned over top of one another then you will not get a read. The lube is in a metal foil sachet that blocks the signal. We have changed production to move the lube to the other end of the pouch but some of them were still in inventory that had the lube right underneath the implant on the same side of the pouch as the implant.
Works perfect after removing the lube - it was on the same side as the implant and that was the issue. Thank you - we can delete or close this, excited to dev this bad boy
