Implants for encryption/authentication/key derivation?

Hi all,

the only realistic use case I can see for an implant is to derive a key to encrypt stuff with, or to encrypt or decrypt on the implant itself.

As far as I can tell, only the javacards and the vivokeys are capable of this.

Should I bother implanting one of them, or should I just use a microcontroller?

It depends on your needs and threat model.

But implants are cool either way.

I’ll probably go for a magnet, the apex and flexsecure are both more expensive and less flexible than a microcontroller or ordinary javacard.

But you can’t lose a FlexSecure or ApexFlex

The guys above didn’t really give much of a sales pitch
I won’t either, but I know which option I woild choose.
It is a daily use item for me, multiple times a day, that’s why I have a one of each as a backup for each other.
For a cheaper option, you could choild the one that suits you best and get a J3R180 Test Card
as a backup
