Installer found - need product advice!

Hi team. I have found an installer local to me, but need to find the correct implant to throw in.

I have managed to eliminate all keys, physical cards, and other bits and pieces down except for one access fob (pic attached) which I use to get in and out of my building. If I can get that sucker into my hand, I can leave the house with nothing but the shirt on my back – and pants, presumably.

While I don’t intend to move for some time, it would be helpful for it to be a reprogrammable chip so that I can add features down the line.

The installer says they have someone who can program it, but I need the right hardware! Can somebody please point me in the right direction?

Welcome!

From the picture I think you’d want a FlexClass, but it would probably be a good idea to try to learn some more about it first to confirm too

Are you able to scan it with your phone? You could use an app like NFC Tools or TagInfo to hopefully get some more info

It might also be worth it to check in with the guy who’d be doing the cloning, make sure he’s confident he could clone that particular credential type and all that. He might/should have the tools to double-check the chip type too

About this part:

If you do end up needing the FlexClass, it is a re-programmable chip, so you could change the credential data on it, but it’s not a super inter-operable chip either, it’s sort of just for ID-ing. Just in case you were wanting something that can do fancier stuff…

But, it’s pretty common around here to get multiple chips for added functionality too…

You have been VERY helpful. Thank you! I have taken this rec back to the installer.

How did you go with this?

If you haven’t already got one, I would also suggest you get a test card to play with.
