Is the Apex Flex compatible with the Galaxy Z Flip 6?

I have recently implanted my new VivoKey Apex Flex. When I downloaded the app and tried to set it, my phone did not read it. Is it compatible with the Z Flip 6? I need to know that in order to understand my problem. It may have been damaged during installation, for example.

I’m not particularly familiar with flex implants but in general there may be some swelling in the area after the install which can make it more difficult to read I wouldn’t panic too much for at least a couple weeks

Just adding to @Trieagle response above

Nice,

great implant

If your NFC is turned on, it should be fine

Placement is also important

Flex implants, you want to place them parallel to the antenna

A MFGC may really help also

Placed on the corner is often a good position. And anyone put the Apex over that. Once. It’s installed for a very good chance of success.

I use one on mine and I find it super easy to get a read every single time.

This can ertainly be a factor, more so with an xSeries and a little less so with a Flex, so if it is a fresh install, it could certainly be the problem.

What app and what do you mean by set?

I downloaded the apex flex app and tried to start using the implant, but my phone doesn’t recognize it.

Screenshot? Description of “doesn’t recognize”? Is there an error message or just nothing happens?

Nothing happens. The phone recgnizes the FlexNT, though. The Apex Flex also recognizes the flexNT (but it doesn’t work like it would with the apex, obviously). I’m not sure if the apex flex is too deep in my skin or something like that.

You posted this 6 days ago, how long ago was the instal?

A Flex is usually easier to get a read sooner than an xSeries, but sometimes they take a little longer to heal.
The ApexFlex especially since it is such an advanced chip it requires very good coupling.

I have both a ApexFlex and a FlexNT, the FlexNT is much easier to read.

Did you grab yourself an RSP / MFGC, it will really help…but so will time.

Just to be clear… the Apex Flex is the implant. Apex Manager is the app.

I posted it right after the procedure.

It is still not working. Should I try to read it with a USB reader?

Thats very surprising, Give me a bit, I think I know somebody with the Z Flip 6, it try it with my Apex and last spare repeater sticker (I now hate you for taking that from me :stuck_out_tongue: )

Did you also get a Hammy Field detector?, they are fantastic for gettingvthe best possible placement if the repeaters

I have no knowledge about this “Hammy Field Detector”, but I bought one of these a few years ago: USB ACR122U Reader/Writer - RFID & NFC Chip Implants and Biohacking products

I’m going to find it in my deposit and use it to read the Apex. Maybe it will work.

This is what i will use to visually find the best placement for the repeater sticker, where the LED is at its brightest is the spot the sticker goes.

This should also read it no problem

Image stolen from Amals post to give you an idea about placement

Have you tried it? What phone do you use your apex flex with? I’m going to try and use it with other phone.

not yet, it’s not my phone so I have to wait to see the person who owns it, BUT that will probably be today, so I will let you know.

Mine is a Samsung S24, with a Hammy sticker.

It was a Flip 5, not 6 sorry.

I still did the testing though

Sticker Placement

It read my Apex no problem, even without the repeater sticker.

Do you have a cover on your Phone?

The phone owner when asked about tap to pay, the reply was “centre of the top screen”, which is odd, as I found no NFC signal there…

I tried with and without the case and tried to put the sticker about the same spot you did. I’m going to try to read it on a Galaxy s24 next monday too.

UPDATE: The z flip 6 nfc sensor sucks. Don’t buy it. I tried it with other phones and my apex flex is fine. The Galaxy Fold 6 also sucks with the apex flex. Don’t buy these phones.

Lame… however I have seen a phone that works like shit to working fine by adding a repeater sticker (rsp) to it. Do you have the repeater field detector (round disk with LED) to help you find a good position?
