Why not release something new while we’re at DefCon!

If you’re looking to start exploring the next generation of smart cards were going to support, this is the one to get.

These guys are pretty slick. The J3R180 is based in the P71D123 while this guy uses the P71D600. We also get a bump to JCOP 4.5. We even got some with MIFARE Plus emulation in case you were interested in real access control security. Beyond that, they’ve nearly twice the persistent storage (but the same transient) and support Curve25519.

Is that something that can’t be added/removed by the user then?
Or does it work like any other applet?

Complicated questions. There are applets–NXP modules–that, if removed, will break MFP. There’s no way to put them back on. I have docs I need to finish.

I mentioned that there are some things you probably don’t want to delete from these cards. None of these can be replaced.

There are varieties that do, these do not. We have some coming that have DESFire EV3C emulation. I had a few that I did some preliminary testing with but I need some more to confirm some things I learned since.
