Just bought a Proxmark3 Easy and was wondering best way firmware to use?

Hi!!

I just bought this:

And it appears to be Proxmark3 Easy

I am not too interested in Hacking per se yet, but I do want to be able to make a few bucks copying apartment complex gates, HID work badges, etc.

My question is, since I am using Windows 10 - should I flash iceman’s firmware? Or what firmware is best based on my current goal of using the Proxmark3 Easy?

Also, I have Windows 10, and looking for the easiest way to flash firmware

I think most people on this forum would likely reccomend the IceMan fork.

On the Dangerous things store there is a windows 10 installation guide.

One “problem” you may run into is, you need to have matching firmware on both the PC and easy.

At a guess the PM3 Easy you brought,probably has the Factory firmware so you will need to flash Iceman on it.

Ha, and the funny thing is Amal has made that as simple as possible…
also dont feel bad you are not alone. You are not the first person to feel like that and won’t be the last.
They are not a fun or particularly easy thing to set up, but they are pretty easy to use ince you have done so

After watching the video that is posted in that guide, it seems fairly doable for me as I have flashed firmware before, but my issue is if it has a chinese firmware, then i should have same firmware as client/pc, I am not too sure how I would do it? Perhaps I am misunderstanding what that part meant. I will try it when my proxmark3 arrives :slight_smile:
