Lifetime of DangerousResin

Hello, new to the Forum and getting implants.

I just got the m0422a installed, and I’m trying to find out a bit more about it’s lifetime. In particular the resin. The instructional video I was made to watch (thought emporium), claimed “organic” coatings (which is what I figure the resin coating of the magnet to be), could crack after as little as 2 years.

I was told to ask @tac0s , and I did find an interesting post about the resin withstanding forces in the 100N to200N+ range, but nothing about it degrading as it sits in the body.

Do you or anyone else have information about how DangerousResin behaves over time? Is that indeed the resin that was used to in capsulate the magnet?

Thank you in advance ^^

It’s a hard polymer that should be completely inert in the body. The resin should last for decades or more… So it will likely outlive you.

Please link the thought emporium video?

We use the same class of material used for monomer bone cement. It’s made to last. Still, we have resin encapsulated products in our long term storage so we can periodically test them.

Eh sure, it was here:

It would also be different if it’s constantly wet and in your body vs on a shelf right?

Yes. That’s why we store them in sealed falcon tubes with USP saline

*2024 not 2004.. sheesh I’m awake I swear.

Amal: you better add a bunch of assorted lengths of wire to one of your drawers…

Or I missed the lengths of wire post in the DT Club.

I do have a lengths of wire drawer, but I’ve not showed it off yet. You don’t jump straight to showing off your wire drawer. Yes DT Club had been around a while, but you can’t rush these things.
