Looking for an installer in London

I am 18 very soon and I want to get a xg3 in my left hand knife edge as soon as possible.
I have been researching and considering it for almost a year now. I don’t have a driving licence so I would prefer to look for someone in London so I don’t have to ask a friend to drive me. Unfortunately, the closest installer on the map seems to be interskin which is quite a way away. A last resort would be approaching a gp or piercing studio with the printable guides, but I want to know about any options I haven’t considered.

it sounds like you know what you want! I Love my Xg3, and its honestly my most used implant so much so that i am considering getting another.

As finding someone to do it, look at some of the threads at how to approach a shop and ask if they are interested in doing subdermal implants. terminology and resources to provide them.

as far as placement. I dont have one in the knife edge, however in the time on the forums i have spent i have seen many knife edge installs go sideways either being too shallow, or being a poor place for the Xg3. with that known i would say you may want to reconsider it.

I was considering that placement because it left the webbing next to my thumb available just in case I wanted another chip in the future. I appreciate your warning. I have quite small hands and I really don’t want it migrating out of my skin… do you think the webbing would be a better option? Where did you implant yours?

I placed mine inside my finger tip. I do not reccomend that location and definately do not reccomend it for small hands.

I think when i get my 2nd i am planning on placing it on top of the back of my hand between index and middle finger metacarpals.

I do a lot of small electronics work and i feel like having a place to hold small screws is ideal in that location.

I have mine there and confirm this is exactly what I use it for.

Also to hold bottle tops as a magic trick when I am at the bar.

IIRC, @invalid_signal has one there as well. And I I also want one for holding screws…

Although in the long term, I want a magnetometer for sensing, and two electropermanent magnets for handling screws, one in a fingertip and the other in the back of the hand. Ok, I’d like to have this in both hands but I’m getting ahead of myself and thinking about my avatar…

I like the the xG3v1 I have in the knife edge, but the xG3v2 in P1 is way more practical for me! I have an xSIID in P0 on the same hand as the v2, and don’t have any issue reading it. I think the general rule is 20mm between a magnet and chip? So you shouldn’t have any issue having a magnet and something else on the back of your hand.

hey there, so im down in portsmouth, there is a train line down from london takes about an hour or two to get here, if youd like i can send you the information about the installer.

if not then best i can suggest is call arround and ask any percing shops, print out the instalation documentation for the xg3, or email it accross to them, the installer i went too took a look at the documentation, had a few questions about the device and said sure that he would happily install it for me and then didnt even charge me (please keep in mind other shops may still want to charge for you the time it takes to install it. )

TL:DR: just be nice and call arround have the documentation ready to provide them and try to explain it to them as best you can. most of them will be happy to do something new. always go with someone local or someone you trust, if you talk to them and dont trust them dont use them. its basicaly the same rules as getting a tattoo.

I would love to have those details, thank you! I’m looking for as many contacts as possible so I have choices. I’m glad you had a good experience, it’s encouraging to hear.
