Mifare desire coping

Hi I’m a newbie, is it possible to copy a Mifare desire key fob? I tried using a xixei x7 and it kinda reads it but says it has encrypted sectors, is there any way to read the encryption and clone it?

I could clone it with the x7, just not the encryption part:(
When I try it on the lock, it only beeps, won’t unlock.

The desfire chip uses standard encryption algorithms that have no known attacks at this time. It’s not possible.

I see, guess you can’t clone it:( just need a reader that can read/write the encrypted sectors.

Any CCID reader should be able to… the acr1252u would work fine with the appropriate software. You’ll also need the keys to be able to read your source card. If you just want to experiment with desfire then you can set your own keys.

Also, when I read the mifare desire fob , it has a sak 20, the fob I want to clone it to has a sak 8, does that make a difference? Could the proxmark3 read it?

What you could consider is some custom work
or
conversion

Here’s what I got on proxmark3

What does the key part mean? Did find the key?

If you are talking about the public key section, then kind of in a way, but not how you are thinking.

There is both a public and private key. The public key is ‘safe’ for any party to have, as the private key is what is needed to obtain any real data. The public key in this case can likely only encrypt data, not decrypt it.

Let me reiterate what Amal has already said. DESFire can not be cloned. The encryption and technology used there is insanely difficult to break without the help of a supercomputer and many thousands of dollars of electricity.

Edit: …Unless there is some sort of flaw that is unknown to the public… Or maybe a fancy microscope could help. I digress.
