Newbie question - devices and programming

Good afternoon.

I have placed an order for a Flipper Zero, and am looking to get implants in the web near my thumbs - and as there are more than one standard/frequency (I need to understand this more as it s a basic bit of information), I was wondering if I could program my implants - on the fly - with the Flipper.

My questions:

  1. I assume the Flipper can program them?
  2. What would be the most flexible implants, what standard/frequency would be best to buy?
  3. Who is best qualified and authorised to implant them? A few enquiries have shown medical profession don’t want to for professional indemnity reasons.

Thanks in advance.

Greg

Any pointers

That’s a good place to start. We also have an entire category of informational posts on this forum;

We refer to that as P0

generally speaking, yes, BUT it depends on the implant.

The FlexUG4 is probably the implant that covers more options than others.
Can the Flipper write to it, well, yes and no, its kind of more nuanced than that.
A PM3 is a better option.

You are kind of looking at this the “wrong” way.
If you tell us what you would like to do, we can suggest the best implant that will do it.

Have a read through the links Amal provide above to get a better idea

A body piercer is usually your best option, and who that is will depend on where you live.

Hi @Pilgrimsmaster

Thankyou very much for the comprehensive reply. I agree - I am most likely going about this the wrong way, taken the wrong approach.
I guess what I’d like to do is purely experimental - I have no specific purpose in mind. I guess what I was looking for was to implant devices that I could use to play with - different devices for different functions. A newbie just wanting to tinker.
I realise that implants re quite the physical investment, so I am also considering the wearable/ring equivalent. Maybe its better to do this until I become more comfortable with what I want and need.

Thankyou again for your advice.

Now THAT is a thing.

An xMagic in P0 Left or Right, combined with a Flipper would be a good start.

You would be ready to start to tinker.

If you wanted another implant, a NExT2 in the other P0.

If you wanted some more range, You could swap out the xMagic for a FlexM1.

Get yourself an xAC
This is a simple, but very useful project board.

I would reccomend you get a test card pack, When you are learning as test write to a card before an implant is a good habit.

If you plan on using a phone with your implant, a RSP would also be a reccomendation, they will also work on the flipper, but there is another option…

Happy to suggest more, but I don’t know what your budget is…
You definitely need everything to get started, but some things really are worth investing in.

If you want to get serious from the get go, an ApexFlex or a FlexSecure are the cream of the crop.
They are my use everyday implants (you only “need” one or the other)
My others depend on where I am and what I am doing…

hope that helps, and we are here to answer your questions…
