NExT implant & blue-collar jobs

Are there any others who have experience with chip-implants and blue-collar / physically demanding / high risk jobs ?

I’m curious since the implants are preferably placed in the hands which is something our occupational category mostly uses quite harshly.
If you would like to share what you do, where you have the implant, what potential risks you saw pre-implanting and how it’s going so far, I think that would be helpful to others who are thinking about getting one.

Welding (Strong EM-fields)

As a blue-collar worker I was a bit cautious before and after implanting the NExT due to the nature of my occupation as a welder. My biggest fear was that the strong electromagnetic fields around my hands would toast the implant into oblivion. Next biggest fear is physical damage to the chip and/or housing due to impact or vibrations which could cause serious damage to my hand.

Before buying the NExT and implanting it I got a non-sterile ‘test chip’ that i taped onto my hand during work for a couple of weeks just to see what would happen, and after each day i verified that it was undamaged by reading it.

After having the NExT implanted, doing my job as normal for months I can report that so far I haven’t seen any damage to the implant. I would know since I use it as the key to get into my home everyday, thus far the implant gives me less hassle than the smart-ring ever did.

I work on high frequency corona machines (20KV @ 20KHZ) and never had an issue. I also tend to hang out in electrical cabinets with high power stuff (including VFDs) and never had an issue with any implants :+1:

Ps: I have a full size card taped to one of my prototype HF (20KHZ) transformer, been there for a few years and still working good as a few months ago (I don’t test it too often anymore )

I run chainsaws, haven’t had any issues yet with functionality. I would recommend taking at least a few days, or ideally a full week before going back to work. I had a 16 hour turn around between a P2 install and being back at the worksite, and it did migrate closer to the bone. I’m not sure that the vibrations early on in the healing process are what caused it, but I haven’t had any issues with my others.
