NExT V2 experience compared to V1

Hi all,

I’m new to implants and I wanted to buy the original NExT, but every official EU reseller is sold out, and it’s been discontinued, so I won’t be getting that without expensive shipping and customs.

I got recommended the NExT v2 that even has a fancy led. But with 3.1mm it’s a full millimeter thicker than the 2.1mm series. 1mm doesn’t sound like much, but by cross-sectional area that’s roughly a 2.2× bigger footprint, so I am a bit worried that it will be quite noticeable.

My main worry is everyday hand use — gripping, tools, sports, leaning on my hand.

For those who have a 3.1mm implant (NExT v2, or anything in this diameter range):

  1. Once healed, do you notice it during normal gripping/pressure, or does it fade into the background like people report for 2mm chips?
  2. Does anyone have both a ~2mm and a ~3mm implant and can directly compare feel?
  3. Any spots or activities where it does bother you?

Best regards

Honestly, I’ve completely stopped noticing mine, it was installed a little further than the LF I have in my left hand but no issues with grip, use or feel.

I’ve got one 3x15mm and one 3x13mm. Pretty fresh installs (late April), and I don’t notice mine at all during normal day to day activities. I usually just notice them when I scratch my hands or rub lotion on my hands. But tools, sports, playing with my kids… I don’t notice them at all.
Even the 14x35mm implant that is just over a month old is not noticeable. Although it’s on the wrist/forearm area…

If I remember correctly, the NExT V2 is meant to replace the xSIID, and the NExT V1 will remain available for people who don’t want blink, I don’t think it has been discontinued if that’s truly what you want

There’s no difference in feel, I can’t tell either of them are there anymore

Although my xMagic is a bit more visible under the skin than my xSIID

That could very well be a difference in install depth too though
